The national flag is manufactured to the specification annexed to the Constitution as Schedule 2. The spiral device is appliquéd rather than printed; the device turns clockwise from the centre and must not be reversed. Flags supplied for outdoor use are headed with a rope and toggle.

Conditions of issuance
- The device must not be reversed, recoloured or displayed inverted.
- A flag flown to half-mast requires no authority from the Registrar.
- Worn flags are to be retired by burning and not by disposal in refuse.

Documents and regalia issued by the Office of the Registrar are commemorative. The passport booklet is not a travel document and must not be presented to any border authority, airline, bank or public official as evidence of identity or nationality. Presentation of a commemorative document as an official one is a matter for the law of the jurisdiction concerned and the Republic accepts no liability arising from it.
