Representation of the Republic
Under Article 2 of the Constitution, sovereignty is vested in the citizen and travels with the citizen. The Republic therefore has no territory of its own and needs none: it is present wherever a citizen is found, and every citizen is, without further appointment, its representation in the country of their residence.
The plate below records the countries in which the Republic is at present so represented. It is compiled from the countries of residence stated in the register of citizens and amends itself as the register grows. No entry confers, and none shall be read as asserting, any interest in the territory concerned.
