Medal of the Order of the Spiral
The medal is struck in bronze from the die held by the Registrar. It is conferred by instrument and the fee covers striking, the ribbon and the fitted case. The obverse bears the spiral device; the reverse bears the citizen number of the holder and the date of the instrument.

- Conferred by instrument only. Applications from persons not appearing in the Register of Honours are returned.
- The medal is worn on the left breast, before all foreign decorations.
- Replacement of a lost medal is at the discretion of the Ministry of the Interior.
The application has been minuted and holds its place in the issuance queue. The electronic fee-collection facility is not yet in service; no fee has been taken and none is owed until the Registrar calls for it by correspondence, quoting this item number.
Documents and regalia issued by the Office of the Registrar are commemorative. The passport booklet is not a travel document and must not be presented to any border authority, airline, bank or public official as evidence of identity or nationality. Presentation of a commemorative document as an official one is a matter for the law of the jurisdiction concerned and the Republic accepts no liability arising from it.
